Voice Picking
Increased
accuracy and productivity can be achieved
through voice picking, where operators get their
instructions from a headset, as opposed to a clipboard,
or hand-held electronic device.
Principal Systems Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Supply Chain Soltutions employ voice picking enabling operators can use both hands, with voice picking and
placing instructions:
-
Received by the operative from the WMS by voice
synthesis (via a headset).
-
Verbally confirmed back to the
system upon completion (using a microphone built
into the headset).
The most common application is Order Picking, but
it can also be used for; Goods Receiving, Pallet
Put-away and Let-down, Stock Checking, etc.
